I have a 1988 BII, and I run it with 31" BFGs on 7" rim, 3" suspension lift, 2" body lift. The front has new springs, dual shocks on each corner, air lift bags inside the James Duff coils, a steering stabilizer, and new ball joints ant tie rod ends. I replaced the ball joints and tie rod ends at 157,000 miles. It is now 170,000 miles, and I can feel no play in the front end either by laying under the truck, or by driving it. This is all on the original Dana 28 with fresh 4.10s installed. I agree with Tim, they do wear out between 120K and 150K, but every couple of months? Anderson" Subject: Engines/Tranmissions for a Swap Date: Tue, 23 May 2000 21:02:51 -0700 Howdy I'm looking for recommendations for a Ford 4WD engine/transmission/transfer case to use to swap into an Isuzu Trooper. Preferably a Port Fuel Injected engine. A 5.0L will fit, but that's as large as will fit into the engine bay. Either manual transmission, or automatic, since I haven't decided which to use yet. I would prefer to use a complete assembly so I can purchase it as a one piece unit, out of a wreck. Since I don't know anything about Ford Products, any advice on which combination, and what vehicles it would come out of would be greatly appreciated.....
