Ken,

Thanks for all your hard work. I get a lot of info from your site for
purchase and maintenance decisions.

I'm wondering, have you considered a list devoted to the Ford Truck SUV's.
For example, my Excursion. I also own an F150.

There are currently no newsgroups that serve Excursions to my knowledge.
And although Edmunds has a few newsgroups devoted to Excursions, it's pretty
much broken down to a forum for criticism by environmentalists.

To achieve critical mass, the scope might need to be broader, I guess.
Perhaps a list that includes the Expeditions and Excursions would be broad
enough, however.

Anyway, thanks again for the lists. They really serve a useful purpose.

Sincerely,

Nick

Hey guys! Well in the down time something WAY not cool happened. It seems
someone tried to steal my tires one night when my truck was in our driveway.
I didn't notice it until after driving for about 10 minutes the next day cuz
I heard this clicking sound a lil when I accelerated and I heard it A LOT
when I applied my brakes. After my dad looked at it home> he said all my lugnuts were loosened except for the one that locks my
tire. Because I drove on it all day, my rim cracked and now I need to buy a
new one. match the others but since my dad is payin for it, we're gettin all new rims>
It really sucks when people do stupid stuff like this cuz my tire could have
come off when I was driving on the freeway murder??> Anyways, I'm just venting, but at least I didn't die or anything.
So if your tempted to steal something off someone elses truck, you better
think twice. Bye guys!

That or someone REALLY doesn't like you. :-( (But nicking a couple brake > lines would be quicker and just as effective in that case.)

I've heard that sound before... the first time you have no clue what it is;
after that you know to stop ASAP!

In general I hate those locks because you have to find the durn thing
everytime a
wheel needs to come off, but in this case I'm glad you had 'em.

It probably wallowed out the holes on the other rims and possibly bent them as
well. I agree with your dad on going ahead with a new set of wheels to be
safe.

> It really sucks when people do stupid stuff like this

Amen!!

> cuz my tire could have
> come off when I was driving on the freeway

That's an exciting ride... fortunately when I lost a right rear rim there was
light traffic. Odd feeling to have your vehicle squat on one corner and see a
large tire & wheel pass you as you slow down. I was also amazed at just how
far I had to walk to recover the errant wheel! ;-)

Possibly.. have to show intent and all that other legal stuff.

Vent away; glad you're still with us.

Damn right! Don't forget that lots of trucks are insured by "Smith & Wesson"
also... I can't think of any parts I want badly enough to get shot for. ;-)

Just a note to everyone.... some of you are really going
to like this. Listar, our new mailing server, enforces
quoting limits. No longer will you be able to quote a
50 line posting with a one line response. You'll receive
an error email if you do.
